booking through thursday

Booking Through Thursday

  1. How many unread books do you have in your house, right now? (Your own books, that is--not ones that belong to other family members--and not counting things like school books, if you have them.) Clearly, an estimate will do.

Not too many at the moment. In fact, the fact that I am packing and putting most of my books in storage made me keep thinking about this meme. I read it every week but never seem to get around to writing it. Especially now that I'm trying to get moved. But as I was packing and sorting yet another box of books, I kept thinking about it.

And at the moment, the pile of unread books are the only ones I am taking with me to our temporary domicile. So, I know I have about a dozen.

But there were many more, that are now in my Freecycle pile.

  2. To the best of your recollection, what is the OLDEST unread book in your collection? How long has it been waiting?

Well, it's no longer there, it's in the Freecycle pile, but it was "The Satanic Verses" by Salman Rushdie. I wanted to read the book. I wanted to like the book. I tried a couple times and just couldn't read it. So I'm going to pass it on, maybe to someone who actually will.

  3. Do your TBR books (that's "To Be Read," if you didn't know) haunt you, make you feel guilty that you haven't read them yet?

Nope. It makes me feel there might be a few books left to read when I retire and have more time to indulge in my love of books.
