the dead of winter

It is finally winter. Oh, it snowed before, and got cold, but it was only becoming winter. Now, it has settled in. It is frozen, and will stay frozen. The high temperature is below freezing. The ice hanging off the mountainsides had turned blue, as though it too is getting colder. I love winter, but now is the time I start wishing for spring.
