pioneer valley regionals

I'm sitting in a hotel room in Augusta, Maine. We're here for the Maine Martial Arts Challenge tomorrow. The boys are at the pool, which lets me enjoy some quiet time in the hotel room after a five hour drive.

But I finally got pictures from the last tournament from one of the mothers. She'd told me that she'd taken some of me and I joked that I had avoided that so far. Well, I looked at them and actually LIKED them!

So, here they are. I took 2nd in weapons (which is what you see here), 1st in form, and 1st in fighting.

Billy took 4th in form and 4th in weapons. The fact that he's getting weapons trophies in most tournaments shows a marked difference from last year.

Justin took 1st in form (by a large margin again), and 2nd in sparring. He had another huge division too.

Speaking of Justin, he tested for blue belt (8th gup) Thursday night at the school, and did great, as always. He won't get his belt until the next time he's in class, so he'll still compete tomorrow as an orange belt. LOL.
